Being a photographer brings me joy as I venture into landscapes chasing after the perfect light and freezing moments, in time through my lens. When the opportunity to visit the Isle of Raasay in Scotland presented itself I eagerly embraced it. Situated between the Isle of Skye and mainland Scotland Raasay is known for its charm, fascinating history and stunning views.
Equipped with my camera gear and filled with anticipation I hopped on the ferry from Sconser that crossed over to Raasay from Skye. The salty sea breeze played with my hair as I stood on deck watching the misty island draw closer.
Upon arrival at Raasays pier, excitement bubbled within me. Stepping onto this island revealed rolling hills, rocky cliffs and a serene atmosphere that felt like a hug. Each step deeper, into Raasays enchanting surroundings captivated my senses.
As the sun dipped low in the sky painting everything with a hue it was hard to say goodbye to Raasay. Even though my day trip had concluded the memories created and images captured will forever hold a place in my heart.
Looking back on my trip, to Skye I realized that Raasay held a place in my heart. Not an island, but a refuge for the soul, a sanctuary for those seeking peace in natures embrace. Watching the sky change colors before me I understood that this wouldn't be my visit, to Raasay. Its beauty was timeless its charm irresistible. I felt privileged to witness a moment in its rich history.
