As I sit here recalling the moments we shared strolling through the corners of Edinburgh with our cameras I can't. Feel a sense of longing. Piotr, my friend and inspiration departed soon yet his essence endures in the snapshots we took during those days of analog photography.
It was, among the streets of Edinburgh where our passion for capturing images ignited. Piotr was drawn to the vigour of street photography while I found comfort in freezing the soul of human faces. Our contrasting approaches only deepened our connection; he willingly posed for my camera and his daring spirit fuelled my creativity.
The Royal Mile teeming with people and historical allure became a spot for us. We would spend hours watching life unfold around us each click of the shutter capturing unfolding narratives. Piotr had a talent for blending into the scenery his lens stealthily seizing moments that left me in awe.
Horse Wynd, with its pathways and hidden nooks beckoned us to discoveries.
Piotr’s exceptional talent, for capturing the beauty of scenes and playing with light turned moments into masterpieces while I aimed to capture the mystery and charm he exuded through my camera lens.
It was in the simplicity of Lochend Park and the vibrant greenery of the Botanic Gardens where Piotr truly revealed his self. Surrounded by natures splendor he found solace and motivation skillfully documenting the interplay of light and shadow with a sense of respect that was undeniably captivating.
Those days spent exploring and photographing feel like memories but the shared experiences we had will always hold a special place in my heart. The sound of the camera shutter, the scent of developing chemicals the excitement of watching our images come to life in the darkroom – these are moments that bring back memories of our connection.
Even though Piotr may no longer be physically present his spirit lives on through our photographs. Each picture serves as a tribute to his love for photography his boundless creativity and his zest for life. Goodbye, for now friend; we will reunite again in the timeless realm of memories
